Labour union launches Game Worker Employment Survey to push for pay transparency and equity
"Everyone deserves fair pay. So help us make that a reality."
The move will enable developers to hire union-represented talent for early production work.
U.S. performer union SAG-AFTRA has introduced a new contract that will let developers creating pitch projects, such as sizzle reels or playable prototypes, hire professional actors.
The Pre-Funding Pitch Interactive Media Agreement covers demos, vertical slices, trailers, teasers, sizzle reels, and playable prototypes that are being created for the exclusive purpose of securing production funding.
"This agreement allows developers to up their game by bringing in professional voice and motion performance talent earlier in the process to create a higher-quality product, with the goal of capturing both imaginations and funding," said SAG-AFTRA president Sean Astin.
