SAG-AFTRA debuts new media agreement covering early prototypes and sizzle reels
The move will enable developers to hire union-represented talent for early production work.
The engine maker is purportedly the target of a consortium including the Saudi Public Investment Fund and American private equity firm Silver Lake.
Reuters is reporting that engine maker Unity has held buyout talks with an investor consortium that includes Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund PIF and U.S. investment firm Silver Lake.
If those names ring a bell, it's because they were part of the investor group that took Electronic Arts private for $55 billion earlier this year before presiding over mass layoffs and the closure of BioWare.
Silver Lake currently holds an 8 percent stake in Unity, which could reportedly be valued at $25 billion if a deal moves forward.
Sources familiar with the situation told Reuters that Unity is working with an investment bank to evaluate its options following the approach, but noted the deal is not a foregone conclusion.
