About: Bond with a baby falcon and go on an adventure. Falcon Age is a first-person, single-player action adventure where you’ll play as Ara in her fight to reclaim her cultural legacy in the lost art of falcon hunting against a force of automated colonizers.
Approaches made: "We talked to 10+ publishers, funds, and investors. This was our first pitch as a way to establish the studio and we were also figuring out if we wanted studio investment or project funding and ultimately decided that project funding was the right fit for us as a team. The five minute playable VR demo and short pitch was put together in our spare time and we needed funding to be able to start the studio. Ultimately we went with PlayStation as we already had a good relationship with them with prior titles."
Notes from the developer: "We focused on building a playable prototype that would show off the unique aspects of Falcon Age which is first person falconry / bird pet and how the player and falcon would explore and fight together. It turned out be about a 5 minute demo that we cobbled together with Unity Asset store assets as well as original art. Not a very pretty demo but it was good enough to demonstrate the high concept. While we had an initial pitch deck, there were other decks that we would use to pitch other platforms during development with updated art, info, trailers, etc."
