Desodt takes over from Tara Saunders and will help steer the British arts charity's goals within the game industry.
Interior/Night studio director Charu Desodt has been named chair of the BAFTA Games Committee, taking over from Tara Saunders.
BAFTA confirmed the news on its website and explained Committees are comprised of members who volunteer their time to "steer the organisation's charitable mission."
"Each member provides valuable industry insight that supports BAFTA’s work across the screen industries," added BAFTA.
Desodt has led UK studio Interior/Night, the award-winning developer behind As Dusk Falls, since 2022.
She previously served as a senior producer at Microsoft, where she worked on projects like HoloLens within the company's Innovation Lab, and prior to that spent over 13 years at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe.
During her lengthy tenure at the PlayStation maker, she was the progenitor of karaoke franchise Singstar, having created the original R&D prototypes and core technology behind the billion-dollar series.
Desodt is familiar with BAFTA's inner workings and has been a member of the Games Committee since September 2024.
