How to Fish, a comedic multiplayer angling simulator that lets players do absurd things like battle whopping puffer fish with gold-plated ordnance, has amassed 10 million players in two months.
Developer Dazed Games confirmed the milestone in a brief update posted on Steam. "We just want to thank you to all the 10 million players who played our relaxing little fishing game! We truly appreciate all the very overwhelming feedback from everyone," wrote the two-person studio.
"We know we've been quiet for a bit now but we're doing stuff behind the scenes, no need to worry. We'll be working on a bigger content update, porting to consoles and bugfixes in the coming months. We hope you can hold on until then."
How to Fish was brought to market with support from Evil Landfall, the publishing label created by Peak co-developer and Content Warning creator Landfall Games.
The title launched on Steam on August 20, 2026, at a 38 percent discount that ran for a week. It managed to attract 1 million players in two days and has seemingly not looked back.
Bigger content updates and console ports are now in the works.
