Playbill is a new subscription service for lovers of "high-concept, genre-abusing" indie games
The platform was established by Pantaloon and is launching with 13 titles, including a timed-exclusive from Devolver.
The studio was founded in 2016 and is only now preparing to release its debut title.
Bonfire Studios has laid off seven employees as it prepares to launch its debut title, Arkheron.
The Irvine-based studio, founded by former Blizzard chief creative officer Rob Pardo in 2016, confirmed the news in a brief statement to Vertical Slice.
"We’ve made the difficult decision to reduce our team by seven roles as we focus the studio and our resources around the upcoming launch of Arkheron," said a company representative.
"We’re incredibly grateful for the talent, care and hard work these colleagues have brought to the game and the Bonfire. We're committed to supporting them as best we can through this transition."
Bonfire has yet to publicly reveal a release date for Arkheron, an isometric multiplayer PvP MOBA-like that requires players to battle their way through a mystical tower floor by floor.
It's unclear how many people are currently employed at the hybrid studio or which departments and roles have been eliminated as part of the job cus.
